Call for Papers:

East Asian Junior Sociologists Forum

 

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for the East Asia Junior Sociologists Forum (EAJSF) scheduled in Yokohama, Japan, on July 13, 2014.    The Forum is designed to be an international event wherein students and junior researchers from East Asian countries will convene to meet, present research projects, and engage in lively discussions.  

East Asia has increasingly been an academic focus in recent years.   With rapid social transformations in the last few decades, East Asia now faces a set of new problems in various fields of society.   In accordance with this growth in attention, academic gatherings, such as conferences, meetings, and forums, have increasingly been held, functioning as venue to discuss issues common to East Asian countries.   Interestingly enough, no academic meetings have been planned so far in East Asia that pay exclusive attention to the voices of scholars in younger generations.   Students and junior researchers are the ones who will carry sociological endeavor into the future.   East Asian Junior Sociologists Forum (EAJSF) has been conceived of as, and is designed to become a platform where next-generation students and researchers in East Asia gather, meet, present their own work, and exchange.  

EAJSF is scheduled on July 13 to synchronize with the opening of the XVIII ISA World Congress of Sociology .   The Forum will share the venue with the ISA World Congress of Sociology.   We invite fellow young researchers residing in or doing research on China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan to submit abstracts for East Asian Junior Sociologists Forum (EAJSF) . The forum aims to offer junior sociologist from four countries a chance for networking that will extend into future academic collaborations.
