The purpose of the East Asia ― Nordic/Benelux University Consortium
The purpose of the East Asia ― Nordic/Benelux University Consortium is to raise the level of education and research competencies of all participants through focused discussions exploring, highlighting, assessing and utilizing the unique educational strengths and research capacities of member universities in an unconventional grouping to allow for the maximum synergies to be created.
By building on the shared values of East Asia and Northern Europe, of fostering human capital as the key to national development and to ensure that universities from the East Asian and Nordic/Benelux regions are adequately and competitively resourced to cope with current and future needs of a globalized economy, the East Asia – Nordic/Benelux University Consortium will provide an unique opportunity for participants to:
- Explore ― the educational and research landscape of the East Asian and Nordic/Benelux regions to more fully understand cooperation and partnership potential among participating universities.
- Highlight ― plans for future educational reform and development, while gaining peer-to-peer feedback and support.
- Assess ― collaborative and partnership models, while benchmarking research promotional successes.
- Utilize ― shared knowledge through technology transfer initiatives while supporting our research communities and social stakeholders in development activities.
The 2016 East Asia ― Nordic/Benelux University Consortium Conference
organized under the theme of “Unique Potentials, Great Synergies,” will focus on exploring initiatives to strengthen humanities, social sciences and biomedical research projects in the areas of:
- Informatics/Computer Science & Information Systems
- Biomedical & Life Sciences
- Welfare Systems/Policy & Social Change
